Compare and compared

There is a chinese proposition that reads - "Yan bei Yan bei Sei Yan".. A direct translation into English would be human compared to human, compared until death..It may sound a little funny but the message is clear, that is there is no point comparing amongst human..There is saying someway that "take away our wealth, take away our name, take away our colour and cut us open..we are all no different"..Well, of course this apply best in a larger picture but it differs not much when zooming to a relationship scenario..

A straight forward example would be your partner comparing you with his/her ex-boyfriend/ girlfriend..How do you feel? Whats more the topic of comparison involves organs?

Another example would be comparing yourself with someone your partner used to dislike (which thereafter caused you to dislike that someone as well) but has now change his/her perspective towards that person..How do you feel? Regardless the topic, you will surely be stunned..This is because you love your partner really much and that is exactly what caused you to dislike that person which your partner disliked in the first place..But suddenly now your partner is comparing you with that person and claiming that that person is better than you! It is like saying I hate cheese but I like pizza because it taste good..

However, no matter who you are being compared in whatever scenario, the best thing to do is avoid the comparison being made to your ears because words are sharper that sword and it would pierce into your heart..Believe it or not, the chinese proposition is true, comparison may really lead to death..You have to love yourself and tell the others to love you as how you are..No point of making comparison..The others may ask you to improve yourself but they have no right to ask you not to be yourself and be somebody else!
