Races

Racism is the belief that one group of people with a particular biological make up is superior to other groups with a differing biological make up. Thus, these groups deemed superior are allowed to gain economic power and social dominance over the other groups considered inferior.

In the 20th century, the face of racism was largely black and white. Today, the face of racism has become multi-colored and multicultural. With the high increase of diverse populations entering and maintaining communities all over the country, racism has expanded to include antagonism between peoples of many cultures.

The battle against racism is a never ending one. From the famous battle led by Martin Luther King until our very own the late Yasmin Ahmad as well as our recent "Satu Malaysia" campaign, the light of the end of racism seems far than we really thought.

Why? Have you ever wonder when you became racist? Where did you adopt such perspective towards other races? Do you realised how it all started?

One must appreciate the saying of "Monkey see, monkey do" and upon applying it to the the parents-children relationship, the answer seems to be clear, our own parents. Having said this, parents are not the only contributing factor to racism but they did "played" an significant "role" in inciting hatred and racism in the hearts of the pure and innocent children.

To illustrate the point, lets have a look at the following story of 3 children from different walks of life..

[3 kids named Tambi, Ah Chai, and Dik are best friends since pre-school..They play together, go piss together and got bullied together.. No matter what they do, they would do it together..You can almost hear "one for all, and all for one" whispering in your ears..One day at school, their first day in primary school they have been given an assignment, a project by their English teacher..They were given a topic to work on..The topic was "Races"]

Tambi: Aiyoyo..Ah Chai and Dik ar, what to write la..

Ah Chai: I dono la..I veli bad in writting one..

Dik: Adui..So easy also you guys can't write ke? Just write about car racing la..
Tambi: Dei, it's races la..That means more than one..We got to write more..

Ah Chai: Then we can write about F1 also ma? F1 veli expensip and cool one lo..

Dik: Can Can..You suka..Janji happy..

Ah Chai: But 2 only not enup la..How to get full marks..Got to think more..

Tambi: Aiyoyo..Why you so "kiasu" la dei..If like that, we go home ask our parents..Then we only see how to write..ok?

Dik and Ah Chai: OK!

Scene 1- Back at Tambi's home

Tambi: Ma..Ah Pa...Can tell me got what races ar?

Ma: Aiyoyo..(knock tambi's head)..Ina Dei, races also dono? There are races like Chinese, Malay and Indian.

Tambi: ??..Aiks? Races la Ma...Ina Chinese, Malay, and Indian?

Ah Pa: Chinese is the apek who always money face..Malay is the Mat Rempit..And Indian.. Mostly consist of doctors and lawyers..(clearing throat)

Tambi: (Scratching his head) Er....ok ok...[write and write]

Scene 2- Back at Ah Chai's house

Ah Chai: Mummy, Daddy, teacher asked us to write about races..Can tell me some more got
what races ar?

Mummy: Waa..Races you also don't know? You never pay attention in class ar? There are
Chinese, Malay and Indian ma..Leh..your friend Dik is Malay and Tambi, Indian ma..

Ah Chai: Ooo..Not racing meh? F1 and car racing ma..Not meh?

Daddy:You make me veli sad..Tell you so many times focus..Focus in schoot ma!..(Pulled Ah
Chai's ear)..Why you write only meh? Not a group project meh? Your lazy friends never help ar? Why you go and find Indian and Malay to be in your group? They all veli lazy one..Tomolow you go tell your teacher..Tell they never helped..

Ah Chai: But..But..They are my best friends!

Daddy: You don't talk so much..You just do what I say!

Scene 3- Back at Dik's home

Dik: Ayah, Mak, Cikgu asked us to write tentang races..Ada apa lagi selain car racing?

Mak: Alamak anak ku, Races are Malay, Chinese and Indian..You just cerita about the sejarah..
Malay is the bumiputra while Chinese came from China and Indian from India..

Dik: Aduh..Apa tu..Cikgu wants races la..Why talk about history and all..Ah Chai, Tambi and
I have thought about F1 and car racing..Apa lagi?

Ayah: So now you are in a group with Ah Chai and Tambi? You make sure you don't share their food..Especially Ah Chai..Tak halal tu..You don't talk too much..You just listen to Ayah and Mak..We know best..

Dik: Ala..Baik la..

[The next day at school.....]

Ah Chai: Tambi, Dik..Look what I brought for you..Chocolates!

Tambi: Woo..Thank you!

Dik: [With a serious face] Ayah said your food not halal..

Ah Chai:What you mean?

Dik: Means cannot..

Ah Chai: Ceh..Don't want don't want lo..I can eat more..By the way, I am not going to group with you all already..I going to tell teacher to change..

Tambi: But..Why? I already wrote so much..You see..

[Dik and Ah Chai read what Tambi have written]

Ah Chai: What?! Why you say Chinese money face?! We where got put money on our face wo..Talk rubbish!

Dik: Apa ni?! We are Bumiputra la..Who say Mat Rempit?!!!

Dik, Tambi , and Ah Chai : HMMMPHHHHHH!!!!!

As you can see, many parents who know best have to admit that they indeed did "played" their part in tampering efforts to curb racism. Why must can't Green represent Chinese, Red for Indian and Purple for Malay? There are just colours!By all means, you can inherit your genes, and assets but please, not hatred! Stop emphasing to your children our differences! It is that differences that make us Malaysians so special! No race is more superior than another! It is just different emphasis! Don't just judge one by what he did wrong. Judge him by what he did right! Every races have their own bad hats.No one is perfect and so are you!

If we care too much on superiority, we will be blurred by jealousy and prejudice! Stop! Aren't we all just humans living in this world? Instead of wasting time distinguishing ourselves, why not use the time to make the world a better place for your children if not for yourself? If you are racist, admit it and keep it to yourself. Keep it away from your pure and innocent children. They deserves a better world to live in. Come on guys, lets try our very best and.....
Say "Tak Nak" racist! Say "Nak", we are all the same.

A mask and the H1N1 virus

In the recent outbreak of the H1N1 virus, many has been hospitalised and many unlucky ones died from the deadly flu virus..Mexico and USA being countries with the highest number of cases and deaths have adopted the right preventive measures in an attempt to stop the fast spreading virus.. Many Mexicans and Americans are seen to wear masks and increased their level of hygiene to a certain extend as a response to the deadly virus..

However, what can be seen here in Malaysia is rather surprising..The Government has urged the public to adopt preventive measures such as wearing a mask in crowded places and sanitizing hands before a meal..Sufficient information about how deadly the virus was also given and has thereof reached the public through various channels..But why aren't the people doing their part to prevent the virus from spreading further? Are they brave or just simply ignorant? Is it really that difficult to put on a mask wherever you go to a crowded area?

Hundreds of new cases are reported daily and yet they cheer just because there was no death being reported on that day? It is rather a shame for a country which is considered by many as a small country but recorded such a high number of death from the virus.. Mostly just know how to put the blame on the Government from not doing a good job in stopping the spreading of the virus but never felt the need to do their part..

Malaysians are still living in a ignorance induced wonderland and aren't too late to realise the importance of prevention..If you do not care about yourself, do think about your love ones..You may got infected with the virus and survive but your young ones, weaker ones may not be so lucky..Ask how regretful those parents who had lost their child to this virus..Ask them if they now have the choice, would they care anymore about how others think of you when wearing the mask? Ask them whether 60 cents are too much to pay for their own children lives?

Further, there are these group of parents who do care about their children but they are no less ignorant or perhaps they are grossly misconceived the spreading of the virus.. These parents are those who protect their child with mask but has the wrong perception that they are strong enough to withstand the threat of the virus..Are you that sure? Are you medically qualified? Just think about it..Do you share food with your child? Do you kiss your child before he goes to sleep? Are you living together with your child?! If it is the affirmative, what on earth makes you think that you would know when you got the virus before you spread it to your child? What if it is too late? Dead too late?As parents you got to be an example..As a boyfriend, you got to be wise, not with your muscle but with your brains..Whoever you are, you got to realise that the condition can be way worst than what is now presently if all of us continue with our ignorance and stupidity..The world is sick enough..Please lets try together not to make it worst..Those who are sick, you are indeed sick if you do not wear a mask and cover yourself when you go out public..For those you are healthy and kicking, you must be stupid if you do not ensure yourself being in such condition.. Also those who practicing such preventive measures please do it properly..It is serious matter and shouldn't be taken lightly or being made a trend.. Just cover up your dirty, stinky, sexy mouth or whatever you call it in a proper manner..If you ought to do it, do it properly..That is to cover both your mouth and nose..In fact you must!

Stop being ignorant! Stop caring what people thinks about you! Stop waiting! What are you waiting for? Waiting for more people to wear or die before you decide to put on one? What is it is too late by then? What if the price you pay is the lives of your loved ones or perhaps your own life? Is is not worth it!! Say "NO" to stupidity and ignorance..Say "YES" you will wear a mask..

Mat Rempit

The question that will be in one's mind is simple and rather straight forward that is why? Why Mat Rempit? Why a human being can risk his life on fragile vehicle protected only by its own skin in exchange for speed and fun? Is it really worth it? Is there really no other things or activities whereupon they can find fun and happiness?

What is worst is that they are proud to be a Mat Rempit!! They even have gatherings and convoys to display their so called skills and steels..They have been one of our country's tourist attraction whereby illegal race would soon be part of a tour in Malaysia..We will no longer be famous for our food, culture but instead famous for housing such special bunch called Mat Rempits..

What is actually wrong with them? The public hates them and are calling them names but they find pride with it?

To the Mat Rempits, do you know how much problem you have caused to the public? Do you realise how annoying and irritating you are? Do you realise that you may be one of the reason that makes achieving "Satu Malaysia" even more difficult? This is because, if one were to admit as a Malaysian which consist of you guys too, do you think one will find pride in it? Don't you think one rather deny being part of Malaysia which consist of you too?

Guys, there is no point of being Rempits..No point at all..You are worried of your life too don't you? That is why you never failed to wear your helmet everytime you race..Unless the purpose is to avoid being summoned by the police..If that is the actual purpose, don't you think its a bit silly as you have already commited an offence to be involved in illegal racing?

It is never too late to change into a new leaf..The society and community needs more useful youth to make this country stronger..Be one..Stop the crimes you are committing..Stop the smokes you are producing..Stop waiting..Cakap "Tak Nak" to crime..Cakap "Tak Nak" to lumba..You can do it! Talk to the man in the mirror and ask him to change his ways..

The Origins of Lalachai and Lalamui

There are few theories on the origins of this special creature called lalachai (male) and lalamui (female)..However, it is best to firstly know the definition of lalachai and lalamui as well as the special features that they possessed:

Definition:
la-la-cha-i [la-la-jai] -a new creature on earth that came into existence in the early 21st century and became famous thereon with its taste of fashion, illiteracy and language used, male

la-la-mui [la-la-mui]-a new creature on earth that came into existence in the early 21st century and became famous thereon with its taste of fashion, illiteracy, and language used, female

1)Fashion preference

-strong liking towards rainbow and thus likes to be colourful which also applies to hairstyle
-like to be outstanding amongst the lots while having the wrong perception on how others think about them
-anything that makes them pretty or makes them think they are pretty

2) Level of education

Famous quotes-"You come here la..See I giv you die anot.."
-"You mum noob
-"If I mh my whole family die in front of you.."

-Counter-strike: no longer into the game as there is no more room for bug abuse.

Now that you have a better understanding of this special creature, lets analyse its origins:

Theory 1-KIKI LALA
In the late 20th century, there was a famous children fashion brand named Kiki Lala.. Experts found that 90 over 100 who have worn the brand turn up to be an interesting creature matching the above features..Therefore, the word "Lala" is being taken and thus lalachai for male and lalamui for female..The reason for this is not known until now but upon analysis of the true meaning of the brand, it means ownself lala in cantonese and this may very well attract negative and colourful energy according to the chinese feng shui leading to messed up growth process.

Theory 2-Lala, the seafood

Lala is a type of seafood which is famous amongst the chinese community..It goes very well with spicy sauce or steammed..According to an urban legend, there was once a boy, a handsome boy who helps his dad,a hawker to sell lala..The following dialogue would explained what had happened:

Customer : ah chai ar, i want a plate of lala...my table number is 88..

Boy: How do you want it to be sir? steammed or fried spicy?

Customer: Err..i want my lala..chai, u like la..ur choice..

Boy: sir, i cant choose for you..both are equally good and you have to make a choice..

Customer: Then ar....errr...my lala..chai, you know what you just cook however you like la..

Boy: Sir, i am not trying to be rude.....but...DIU NIA SING AR!!SO SIMPLE OSO DONO HOW TO CHOOSE AR!!AND PLEASE ...DIU NIA SING ...DON CALLED ME LALACHAI!!I ALREADY HATE PEOPLE CALLING ME CHAI LIKE I GOT NO DIU NIA SING GIVEN NAME!!YOUR MUM NOOB AR?!!NEVER TEACH YOU MANNERS??!YOUR MUM NOOB F#@K WITH NOOB DAD GIVE BIRTH TO YOU NOOB???!

Customer: ..........................................................

Thereafter, the news spread about the lalachai's (boy selling lala) superb cursing skill and rudeness..Then unsurprisingly the lala business came to an end and due to financial problem, the boy has to stop school early and went to work as a hairstylist..Coincidently, at that time dying hair was a trend but being a hairstylist he wants to be different..Time past and due to his rudeness to customers, the salon came to an end too..After such traumatic experience of failures, he became insane and has this rare condition called "Perasan Bagus Syndrome"..From there onwards, those boys and girls who match the above listed features would be given the name lalachai or lalamui.

So there you go..the possible origins of lalachai and lalamui...

Compare and compared

There is a chinese proposition that reads - "Yan bei Yan bei Sei Yan".. A direct translation into English would be human compared to human, compared until death..It may sound a little funny but the message is clear, that is there is no point comparing amongst human..There is saying someway that "take away our wealth, take away our name, take away our colour and cut us open..we are all no different"..Well, of course this apply best in a larger picture but it differs not much when zooming to a relationship scenario..

A straight forward example would be your partner comparing you with his/her ex-boyfriend/ girlfriend..How do you feel? Whats more the topic of comparison involves organs?

Another example would be comparing yourself with someone your partner used to dislike (which thereafter caused you to dislike that someone as well) but has now change his/her perspective towards that person..How do you feel? Regardless the topic, you will surely be stunned..This is because you love your partner really much and that is exactly what caused you to dislike that person which your partner disliked in the first place..But suddenly now your partner is comparing you with that person and claiming that that person is better than you! It is like saying I hate cheese but I like pizza because it taste good..

However, no matter who you are being compared in whatever scenario, the best thing to do is avoid the comparison being made to your ears because words are sharper that sword and it would pierce into your heart..Believe it or not, the chinese proposition is true, comparison may really lead to death..You have to love yourself and tell the others to love you as how you are..No point of making comparison..The others may ask you to improve yourself but they have no right to ask you not to be yourself and be somebody else!

Satu Malaysia

The main question is that the idea of Satu Malaysia is it really achievable? Before one can answer this, lets look at the following dialogue in a story of a captain of a ship and his crew..

Captain : Ok crew..From now on, you are all not allowed to smoke in my ship and everyone
workout 5 hours every day after work!

Crew : Why captain?

Captain: Because if you want to sail far, you got to listen to me..United we stand, divided we fall!

Crew :But are you gonna quit smoking and workout with us?

Captain : Why must I? I am the captain! I can smoke as much as I want and lie down and be a
lazy as long as I want.

Crew : (Reluctantly forcing a smile on their face) Aye sir!

[The Crew workout everyday as told and quited smoking while the Captain doing just the contrary...Then time past..]

Captain : Lazy bumps! Row harder!

One of the Crew: If you are in such a rush why don't you roll yourself?

Captain: How dare you talk to me like this! Men, throw him into the sea!

[Crew looking at each other..They are healthy and physically stronger than the captain and a thought came into their mind that is why must they listen to this lazy captain anymore? Everyone is doing what the captain has told them to while he doing the exact contrary..]

One of the Crew : Why must we follow his order? He doesnt deserves our obedience and respect!
We can just feed him to the fishes and then elect a new captain amongst us!

Captain:..............................

After having look at the above story, the message is clear and need no further explaination.. Unity can't be achieved by just coming up with a notion or idea..It must be appreciated by the crew as well as the captain..A monk has no right to ask his followers to not touch woman if himself is a womaniser..An ass has no right to ask his hair to be silky smooth if he is just shitting without wipping up himself!
